|Dear Jaworek Parents, Teachers and Staff,
We have several fundraisers and events happening over the next couple of weeks that we need your participation in!
OCTOBER PTO MEETING: Our October PTO meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 18th at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria. The Jersey Mike’s management will be attending as guests to speak about the fundraiser we will be launching with them next week, and they will come with samples from their menu for all to try. Childcare will be provided in the gym for potty trained children. Please join us to hear about how you can become more involved at school this year.
NEW ENGLAND MARTIAL ARTS FUNDRAISER: New England Martial Arts has partnered with the PTO to offer Jaworek students a four week class at a cost of only $25. The entire $25 will be donated to the PTO, in fact make your checks payable to the Jaworek PTO, and send in your flyer via backpack mail to reserve your spot! Space is limited, so act quick! Flyer with registration form is attached.
SAVERS: Our semi-annual Savers Drive has begun, and will run through Sunday, October 16th. During this donation drive, Savers (located in the front of the Price Chopper plaza on Route 20), will accept your donations of gently used clothing, linens, soft toys, shoes and accessories, as well as household items, and make a donation to the Jaworek PTO based on how many pounds you donate. They will pay us seventeen cents per pound of soft goods, and five cents per pound on all other goods. You can use the drive through donation drop off, and make your donation without ever getting out of your car. Please let the donation attendant know that you are donating to benefit Jaworek PTO prior to unloading your car. All donations are tax deductible, and you will be given a receipt when you make your donation. This is a great opportunity to clean out your closets, while donating some free money to Jaworek at the same time. WRITE-A-CHECK: Our Write-A-Check drive begins this week, and will continue through October 30th. This year, we are asking families to write a check to the Jaworek PTO in the amount of $33 per child, which is roughly the amount that the PTO will spend per child this year. We hold this fundraiser annually in place of selling wrapping paper, candles, or cookie dough, because it is easier for families and the PTO earns 100% of the money from this drive. BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION: The Fall Box Top Contest is underway. Classroom leaders have been posted on the PTO Facebook page, so be sure to check it out to see where your child’s class stands. Send in all those unexpired box tops you’ve been collecting via backpack mail. Please label them with your child’s room number. The classroom who brings in the most box tops in each grade level will receive a new game for their classroom. Box Tops must be sent by October 21st to count in the contest! FALL BOOK FAIR: The fall book fair will be held during school hours during the last week of October. If you would like to volunteer to work at the book fair, please email Jen Hobin at firstname.lastname@example.org to be added to the volunteer list. (Please note, you must have a current CORI on file in the office to volunteer at the book fair).
